Room Categories

Via the menu item Settings -> Room categories you can manage your room types or categories. A category is assigned to rooms and price categories.

Categories Overview

All existing room categories are listed in the overview.

Add Category

Click on Create room category to open the mask for creating a new room type.

The room category defines the type of a room . Furthermore, specific prices can be created for each room category.

The indication of an acronym helps to recognize directly in the reservation overview (column of rooms) what type of room it is.

The Details field serves as a description text for the room category and is displayed during online booking alongside the amenities.

The edit view also allows amenities and images to be added to the room category.

Minimum number of full-paying guests

The settings of a room category offer the field Minimum number of full-paying guests . It controls per room category from which occupancy onwards price modifiers per guest category (for example child discounts) take effect.

The specified number of guests always pays the full per-person price in this room type. Only guests beyond that threshold receive the surcharge or discount defined in the price modifiers . Adults are counted as full-paying first; if their number is not sufficient, the remaining full-paying slots are filled with the children that have the smallest discount.

Example with a value of 2

1 adult + 1 child → both pay full, no child discount
2 adults + 1 child → the child discount applies to the child (3rd person)
1 adult + 2 children → 1 child pays full, the 2nd child receives the discount

A value of 0 means no threshold – price modifiers apply from the very first person.

The individual price modifiers (surcharge, discount, flat rate, free) are maintained centrally under Settings → Guest categories → Price modifiers . The “Minimum number of full-paying guests” field only controls from which occupancy onwards they apply.

Price modifiers – and therefore this threshold – only affect overnight prices that are calculated per person. Flat prices per room or per reservation are not affected.

Amenities

Amenities can be assigned to each room category – for example Wi-Fi, parking, balcony, or air conditioning. The amenities are grouped by theme and displayed with icons to make selection easier.

A range of common amenities is already predefined in the system and available for selection immediately. The selected amenities are displayed to guests during the online booking process.

Images

Individual images can be uploaded for each room category. The order can be adjusted freely using drag and drop. One image can be marked as the primary image – it is displayed first and serves as the preview image.

During online booking, the primary image and all additional images of the category are displayed to guests in a gallery.

Details

If you click on the symbol Details you get the detail view.

Edit

When you click on the symbol Edit in the overview under Actions you get the form for editing. Here you can edit all fields the same way as when you add an item.

Delete

If you click on the symbol Delete under Actions in the overview, the selected element can be deleted.

A room category can only be deleted if no rooms or price categories are assigned to it.
